How to Get a New Zealand Work Visa? 

New Zealand work visa rules have changed. The new immigration rules require a work visa applicant to obtain an employment offer from an Accredited Employer. The employer also needs to complete a job check before they offer the job to a migrant.

There are two main purpose of the new immigration rule. Firstly, to encourage New Zealand businesses to try to hire New Zealand workers before they offer the job to you. Secondly, if they offer the job to an immigrant, they must comply with the immigration and employment laws and regulations in relation.

Therefore,  the criteria to satisfy INZ requirements for work visa vary depending on the types of role and business. A work visa applicant needs to satisfy the immigration that he/she has the qualifications and/or experiences to do the job according to the job description the employer provided during the job check application.

What details and documents I need to submit for my Work Visa application? 

1. 1. You need one acceptable photo according to INZ specification. Please find the details of the INZ specification at this link: Acceptable photos for a visa or NZeTA | Immigration New Zealand
   2. Scanned copy of your passport (main pages).
   3. Chest x-ray. Please find a medical centre near you at this link: Find a INZ verified medical centre near you  
   4. Current police clearance certificate/s of any country you are citizen of, and any country you have lived in for more than 5 years since you turned 17.
   5. Certificates of all your qualifications relevant to the job you have been offered in New Zealand. Some Certificates may not be directly relevant but could be helpful.
   6. Letters of relevant work experiences from your previous and current employer.
   7. Copies of payslips minimum 6 months and 6 month’s bank statements of the account where your salary is paid into.
   8. Your most recent CV outlining all work experiences till date.
   9. The job offer and employment agreement from an accredited New Zealand employer.
   10. Contact details of your current employer (company address, name of the key contact person and his/her phone number and email address).
   11. Contact details of New Zealand accredited employer (key contact person’s email and phone number).
   12. Work Visa Declaration Form (INZ 1225)
